Measures for supporting accessibility

Fintraffic Vessel Traffic Services ensures accessibility with the following measures:

  • Accessibility is part of our mission.

Compliance status

Current accessibility standard for the site:

WCAG 2.1, level AA

Current content compliance status:

Partly compliant with instructions: some content does not fully comply with the accessibility standard.

Known accessibility issues

Users may experience some problems on the site. The following is a description of known accessibility-related issues. If you notice a problem on the site that is not listed, please contact us.

Skip link does not work as expected:

The skip link has no visible keyboard focus. The skip link also does not work as expected, as clicking it does not lead the user to the content. Instead, the next focus is the site’s logo.

Language menu focus does not meet contrast requirements:

The language menu focus does not have enough contrast against the background. The blue focus is difficult to see against the blue background. The focus is also partly under another element, which makes it difficult to see.

Language menu cannot be closed with the ESC key:

The language menu cannot be closed by pressing the ESC key on the keyboard. However, it can be closed by pressing the language button with the Enter key or spacebar. The language menu should also close on its own when the focus moves away from the menu so that it does not obscure other elements, which is not currently the case.

Underlining of contact information links disappears in hover mode:

The underlining of links disappears when the mouse is moved on them (hover mode). If the view is enlarged and the user does not notice the hover mode, some users may interpret the links as plain text.

Id attributes are not unique:

The site features SVG icons that use id attributes in their source code. As a result, several id attributes with the same name may appear on the same page.

The site contains HTML5 landmarks that do not have unique names:

Nav landmarks are missing aria-label, aria-labelledby, or title attributes that assign unique names to landmarks.

HTML element not enclosed in a landmark and the Contact information element is outside landmarks.

Use of PDF files:

The website may contain PDF files which do not meet criteria for accessibility.
